Separate from the jurisdiction of Los Angeles, dating back to the 1890's, the West Hollywood area always had its own special governance, where even during the days of alcohol prohibition, WeHo was loosely regulated, creating a hub for eccentric people wary of government interference.
Today WeHo remains a special place, separate from Los Angeles, and Adam is determined to keep things that way.

Do you have concerns about the current state of safety on residential streets?
I believe that not enough is being done currently to optimize safety on a number of streets around the city. Larrabee is a good example of a street requiring additional traffic calming measures. Although I have been successful in getting the city to come up with several ways to mitigate traffic on Larrabee, more needs to be done, and these ideas could also benefit other neighborhoods with similar traffic issues involving speeding cars.
Do you have any ideas to reduce the carbon footprint in our city?
I believe we should do everything we can to encourage alternative modes of transportation, incentivizing people to get out of their cars by adding additional bicycle lanes across the city and continuing to make the city more pedestrian friendly by adding more crosswalks with flashing lights, especially in residential areas where currently too few exist. Also adding more charging stations for electric cars and promoting use of e-scooters and electric bikes.
How would you open up the channel of communication between residents and City Hall?
Based on my experience, many residents feel frustrated over the city's lack of response and follow-up to critical neighborhood issues related to public safety, including speeding and loud cars, loud late night crowds from the clubs on residential streets, and keeping residential streets and sidewalks clean of litter from late night crowds. As a City Council Member, I will focus on addressing these concerns by listening to each and every resident and following up with solutions that will meet their needs.
What would you do differently to improve public safety?
I believe we are behind the times when it comes to utilizing technology that would help make people feel safer on the streets and sidewalks of West Hollywood. .Investing in cameras and technology will also enhance and aid our police force in reducing crime and going after criminals, similar to what the city of Beverly Hills already implemented.
